I won't include the year or the class period in case any former students find this: I want them to know that even if they WERE like this at one point, they don't have to stay that way.
CONTEXT: at one point in class, I sent a student to the hallway so I could address something he had said, but by the time I had a moment to talk to him, I forgot, and instead lectured him about behaving in general.
"I do not have enough eyes to watch these children. And if I separate them, they are loud and annoying. If they're together, they're loud and annoying.
The worst is, sometimes they're just funny.
OH I JUST REMEMBERED THE STUPID THING I CALLED STUDENT INTO THE HALLWAY FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. He said somebody must be on their period. DANG IT I wanted to talk to him about that!! I wish I would've remembered by the time I got out there. [displeased face emoji]
They do not know how to talk about women, terrorists, or people of color. Like, any race, they can't handle talking about. They don't know about anything outside of their own WORLD."
